Comedy Club

Readers' Pick:
RIVIERA COMEDY CLUB
Riviera
2901 Las Vegas Blvd. South
This category used to be up for grabs back when comedy clubs threatened to replace rock concerts as the baby boomer's first choice for a hot date. Now, the comedy circuit has thinned down to those who actually belong onstage. The Riviera's overall consistency has sewn up its reputation, with readers laughing out loud at the Riviera's narrow victory over the Tropicana's Comedy Stop and its third win in a row.

Our Pick:
THE COMEDY STOP
Tropicana
3801 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Buffet jokes, airplane gags, ex-wife jabs. You can hear them everywhere, so we're of the opinion that who's behind the microphone is more important than the room. Last year's closure of comedy rooms at the Maxim and MGM Grand narrowed the field to three dependable venues. If value is a consideration, the Tropicana's room has the best price at $16 (when you consider two drinks are included) and a two-for-one locals night on Thursdays.
