Best Football Contest

Readers' Pick:
STATION CASINOS
Multiple locations
Tell us what NFL team wouldn't like to brag about three consecutive Super Bowl victories? Station Casinos can't offer action on this category, but they'd have to give up a lot of points after three years in a row as the readers' place to turn in their weekly football picks (and several wins for Palace Station before that). The city has grown, meaning more people compete for the $100,000 grand prize, but the $25 entry fee hasn't gone up. The Gold Coast came up way short on the five yard line -- there's no such thing as second place in football.

Our Pick:
SANTA FE
4949 N. Rancho Drive
First the Station Casinos, then the Boyd Group properties combined their football contests into a computer-linked network. Arguably, it's more convenient when it comes time to hand in your picks. But think about how many more people you're competing against! Last fall, the Santa Fe offered what Sam's Town used to: a free contest with no entry fee, confined to those who play at one hotel.
