Best Locals Hotel

Readers' Pick:
SUNSET STATION
1301 W. Sunset Road, Henderson
It's the third straight victory for the Station Casino down Henderson way -- charging past The Orleans in distant second -- and no wonder. What other casino is a cultural beacon diverse enough to offer lawn concerts by both the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Ted Nugent in the same summer? For those who actually use a casino to gamble, competition from The Reserve has kept Sunset Station creative with a mailing list of promotions that takes care of regular customers.

Our Pick:
SUNSET STATION
We can't argue with a place that suits both the mass and class customer. The Sunset is friendly to diverse groups of ages and interests -- even those "Star Wars" nuts who charged the movie theaters last May. Now it's trying to sew up the divorcée market by signing up Louie Louie -- the premier lounge cat for the over-30 singles set -- to a long-term deal in its Club Madrid.
