Best Showroom

Readers' Pick:
THEATRE AT BELLAGIO
3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South
For the second year running, readers found it hard to argue with 1.5 million gallons of water tucked inside a gorgeously formal opera house. Heck, even the ceiling of this $70 million joint is worth arriving for "O" a few minutes early to check out, before a few drops of water begin to rain down from above and ... well, you have to invest up to $110 to find out what happens next. The Orleans Showroom, a rare headliner room geared to locals, was a justifiable second.

Our Pick:
LE THEATRE DES ARTS
Paris
3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South
Yes, the pretentious name turns us off, too. But we'll put our pettiness aside and state this room does what it's supposed to do: Support and serve the show it's hosting. So it's not quite as impressive as the Bellagio when you walk in. But when "Notre Dame de Paris" begins, you realize the 1,200-seat auditorium is perfectly scaled to its massive stage, pulling people as close as possible to the dramatic musical, with good sightlines and a sound system that's "imaged" to make it seem as though the amplified voice is actually coming from the singer, not a public address column to the left or right.
