Guest Pick: Best Visitor Photo Opportunity

LAWYER ED BERNSTEIN

Former U.S. Senate candidate Ed Bernstein used a traditional vista in a TV ad when he ran for office last year. The spot was shot at a scenic view at the Charleston Boulevard entrance overlooking Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

But he says there's an unbelievable site to see the city if you're driving from Green Valley, north on U.S. 93-95 and Interstate 515. It's at a turn in the road about a mile and a half south of downtown.

"I don't know if it's a visitor's place" to snap a picture, but "there is a turn in the road where all of a sudden, downtown pops up, and (the road) looks like a yellow brick road leading to Oz, at night when it's all lit up."

"It's only for a five-second interval," he says. And then the mirage disappears.
