Guest Pick: Best Softball field

UNLV SENIOR ASSOCIATE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR JERRY KOLOSKIE

As supervisor over the football and basketball programs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, organized sports are a way of life for senior associate athletic director Jerry Koloskie.

So when Koloskie, a former athlete, wants to quench his own competitive thirst, he plays softball at his favorite fields, Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 Arroyo Grande Blvd. He and his wife play two games Wednesday nights for St. Thomas Catholic Church.

"Those are well-kept fields with a great Little League and adult parks," Koloskie said of the 60-acre park.

Before joining the athletic department in 1982, Koloskie played college baseball until an injury sidelined him.

"Now I play at my own pace," he said. "It's good, inexpensive family fun. I do it for the stress relief."
