Guest Pick: Best Buffet

DANCER NORMA MILLER

When legendary swing dancer and choreographer Norma Miller is in town -- something that doesn't happen all that often, with her schedule of travel and dance competition judging -- she enjoys partaking of Las Vegas' most famous culinary tradition.

The buffet.

And, Miller says, "I think the Golden Nugget's is the best buffet."

Miller began coming to Las Vegas as a performer in 1943 and has been living here for the past 10 years. She doesn't recall seeing that many buffets around town a few decades ago, but she has come to appreciate the concept in general and the Golden Nugget's execution of it in particular.

The Golden Nugget buffet, 129 Fremont St., "always was A-1," she says. "Plus, it has food that is very similar to the Bellagio, (from) when Steve Wynn ran both places."

The offerings invariably are "very tasty," Miller says, adding that "my favorite food is the bread pudding. It's the best."
