COMIC ILLUSIONISTS PENN AND TELLER
Penn and Teller named two things close to their hearts.
Teller loves the Sampler Shoppes Antique & Collectables Mall, 6115 W. Tropicana Ave., his favorite spot to shop for antiques: "You can get lost in the place, and if you have a taste for goofy goth, well, watch out. I go in to shop for a nice, practical cast-iron skillet and come out with a 30-pound plaster gorilla head."
And Penn says they discovered Krispy Kreme Doughnuts down South.
"Now, Vegas has Krispy Kremes. They're in casinos for the tourists, and far off the Strip for the Vegans. Big, shiny and 24/7 at Rainbow (Boulevard) and Spring Mountain (Road). When anyone visits me, I bring him or her right from McCarran (International Airport) to that KK. To my friends, KK is Vegas."
"I always tell myself that I'm going to have just one when they're hot. I always end up having four," he continues. "Remember Elvis' favorite doughnut was the Krispy Kreme raspberry glazed. Elvis may not have known jack about drug enforcement, but the King knew his doughnuts."
"The coffee is fine, but they really should be eaten with milk. And getting skim milk is a beautiful irony. Oh, I love these doughnuts. Oh oh oh. Mmm. Buy me a KK and I'm yours."
