Guest Pick: Best Place to View the City

TV ANCHOR NINA RADETICH

KVBC-TV, Channel 3 anchor Nina Radetich recently discovered a view that she says should be "the new postcard-picture place in Vegas."

"This is kind of odd, but I just discovered this place," while running a half-marathon during the Las Vegas Marathon in February.

She was waiting at the starting point of the race, on the old Los Angeles Highway (the far south part of Las Vegas Boulevard) near the Sloan exit off Interstate 15.

"If you get on that road, you see the whole strip, which is great at sunrise," Radetich says. "It was just gorgeous."

The sun rose to the east of the Strip, naturally, and began lighting up window panels of Mandalay Bay, and then shining on the rest of the skyline. "You can see everything from there," she says. "It's almost surreal, (and) I can imagine it's even better at night."
