Guest Pick: Best Family Attraction

THE SCINTAS

There's a divergence of opinions on this topic among most of the performers who make up the family-based stage act.

Chrissi Scinta enjoys going to Wet 'n Wild water park, 2600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, with her husband and her 11-year-old daughter, who has "one heck of a time," she says. "It's kind of away from the typical Vegas thing, like walking down the Strip. ... We try to keep (life) as normal as possible for our kids."

Joe Scinta goes for the Las Vegas SportsPark, 1400 N. Rampart Blvd., which offers roller hockey and ice hockey. He says it's a well-supervised park for his two sons and daughter: "They're in their glory."

And Pete O'Donnell, "an outside kind of guy," takes his 6-year-old daughter, her friends and Scinta children to Hills Park, 9002 Hillpointe Road. It has a play area with monkey bars and swings, water fountains that kids can run through, a cookout gazebo, scooter-friendly hills, a soccer field, and nearby basketball and tennis courts.

"Pretty much anything you want to do is right there, and it's so vast and wide. (And) there are a couple guys who patrol the area," he says. "It's nice to see their presence when you're there with your family."
