Guest Pick: Best Las Vegas Landmark

SINGER RICK SPRINGFIELD

Singer Rick Springfield, who just took over the "EFX Alive!" show at the MGM Grand, chuckled when he was asked which spot is his favorite Las Vegas landmark.

"I just got here," he said, then joked: "I'm kind of drawn to Starbucks."

When pressed, he quickly makes a natural selection, the "spectacular" mountains. Before he set up a new career here, he didn't count on seeing the dichotomy of snow-hatted peaks crowning the desert city.

"It kind of makes you feel secure, like a big blanket," Springfield says. "I love the look of mountains. There are so many contours. I've always grown up with that."
