Guest Pick: Best DancersBALLET DIRECTOR BRUCE STEIVEL It takes one to know one, so it's not surprising that Bruce Steivel, artistic director of Nevada Ballet Theatre, has an opinion on which local production show has the best dancers. In his job, Steivel does some choreography for the ballet troupe and is responsible for its overall artistic statement. His choice is the"Folies Bergere" dancers at the Tropicana, 3801 Las Vegas Blvd. South. He singles out"Folies" because, in his opinion, the show has a lot more actual dancing than other stage productions on the Strip. For other shows,"it's the feathers, it's the sequins, it's the spectacle" that grabs the audience. "I've seen most of the productions shows," says Steivel, who has been in Las Vegas for almost three years. |
