Guest Pick: Best Gourmet Restaurant

Entertainer Steve Lawrence

"I'm torn because I have two favorites," entertainer Steve Lawrence says. "I like Michael's restaurant (in Barbary Coast, 3595 Las Vegas Blvd. South) because it reminds me of the old Candlelight Restaurant at the old Flamingo hotel, where Eydie (Gorme) and I spent many good nights."

"In particular, the wine list is extraordinary at Michael's. All their appetizers and hors d'oeuvres are excellent," he says. "Their fish is wonderful. ... And their tomato soup is world famous."

"My other favorite restaurant is Piero's (355 Convention Center Drive), where locals go. The food is wonderful. The company that you always run into is terrific. The service is fine," he says.

"So I really have two favorite restaurants," he says. "At (Piero's), you can go in dressed (casually) and relax. Michael's is a little more dressed up."
