To paraphrase R-J readers: Yeah, yeah, yeah! When the long and winding road led back to our door last April, during Paul McCartney's "Back in the U.S." odyssey, the evening (and its summer reprise) provided a magical, if hardly mysterious, tour through some of pop music's greatest moments. And Las Vegas is hardly alone in its cheers: McCartney's cross-country trek proved 2002's biggest moneymaker. Enough readers turned back time with Cher to make her (alleged) farewell gig at the MGM Grand their runner-up.
