Now in its third decade, the venerable — and peripatetic — Nevada Ballet Theatre really knows its moves. Not only does the troupe shift between its longtime home, UNLV's Judy Bayley Theatre and the Rio's Samba Theatre, where "The Nutcracker" lights up the holidays, the company managed to work in performances from Lorenzi Park's Sammy Davis Festival Plaza to the new Henderson Pavilion at Liberty Pointe. The company also shows its range artistically, leaping from classical war horses to world premieres, from "Peter Pan" to Pink Floyd. Clearly, R-J readers like what they see; this year's results mirror 2002’s, when Nevada Ballet Theatre danced into first, trailed by the Las Vegas Philharmonic -- which, in a case of sweet harmony, often provides accompaniment for the dance troupe's performances.
