ORIGINAL SAXOPHONE PLAYER FOR THE COMETS JOEY D'AMBROSIO

Joey D'Ambrosio has been busy with gigs in Africa and, this month, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. But when in town, he and his wife, Mary Ann, Las Vegans for 40-odd years, like to take in the food and atmosphere at Trumpets, 2450 Hampton Road, Henderson.

The menu is a fusion of French, Asian and other types of food, from spaghetti to lobster, steak and salmon. The lunch menu runs about $7 to $13. But it's best known for its view.

"The atmosphere gives a view of the whole city: the Strip and downtown. The food is real good up there," D'Ambrosio says. "And they have great martinis."
