Brian Dewhurst is a clown with good taste. The Cirque du Soleil "Mystere" performer -- who has been named circus' British Personality of the Year by World's Fair Magazine -- goes to Marche Bacchus to drink wine, and order from a small food menu, while sitting on the lakefront terrace.

"They sell really great French wines, and they have a very good selection," he says of the Desert Shores business, 2620 Regatta Drive. "You must go there. They have little French snacks like croque monsieur" -- that's French-style grilled ham and cheese -- "and French bread."

The service is kindly, too, he says, and, "if you speak a bit of French, they like that."
