Guest Pick -- Best Place for a Power Lunch

STATE SEN. JOE NEAL, D-NORTH LAS VEGAS

A longtime leader of the Southern Nevada black community and an elected official, Joe Neal ran as a long shot against incumbent Kenny Guinn in the last race for Nevada governor.

Though Neal didn't bring home that bacon, he remains in a position of authority and influence. So, power lunches are a regular part of his diet.

His favorite spot for a so-called power lunch -- which we define as any lunch shared by important people -- is Landry's Seafood House, 2610 W. Sahara Ave.

"The food, the people," Neal replies when asked the reasons why.

"They're very friendly. The management, they go out of their way. They always come back and check on you. They try to seat you where you want to be.

"If you want to be in a booth somewhere, where you can talk quietly, they try to help you."
