Welcome back, Gramercy

A once-dormant project in southwest Las Vegas christened its revival Thursday with the installation of a massive steel sculpture. The Gramercy, a 500,000-square-foot, mixed-use project near Russell Road and the 215 Beltway, put in place a 10,000-pound sculpture of a “G” designed to make the project’s logo visible to surrounding areas. The Gramercy, initially launched as Manhattan West in 2008 but halted in 2009 amid the recession, will have 245 multifamily rental homes, as well as 200,000 square feet of retail and office space. Homes are in preleasing this month. Commercial tenants include HMS Holdings Corp., Touchstone Living, Regus, DW Kitchen + Market and Alex Stratta Italian Steakhouse. WGH Partners of Las Vegas and The Krausz Cos. of California bought the property in 2013 and are finishing it.
