Bank president named to UNLV stadium board

Gov. Brian Sandoval has picked Dallas Haun, president and chief executive of Nevada State Bank, to a new UNLV stadium board that will study the viability of building a stadium/entertainment center on campus.

Haun also serves on the board for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Fundation and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.

“As CEO of Nevada State Bank and an advocate of education, Dallas has spent countless hours working to improve Southern Nevada,” Sandoval said in a statement Tuesday. “I am pleased that he has agreed to help our fellow Nevadans in this manner.”

With Haun’s appointment, the UNLV 11-member stadium board now has nine members. The board’s job is to recommend the scope, cost and funding options for the new football stadium/entertainment center. The panel by law must be convened later this month and has to issue a stadium report on the scope, cost and funding options to the Nevada Legislature by Sept. 30, 2014.

On Thursday, Nevada Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick, D-North Las Vegas, and Senate Majority Leader Mo Ddnnis, D-Las Vegas, are expected to announce their choices for the final two board members.
