New Sprouts store to open June 29, will hire 100 workers

A new grocery store is sprouting new jobs.

Sprouts Farmers Market said Wednesday that it has started the hiring process for the 100 workers it will need at its sixth local store, which is scheduled to open on June 29 at 7530 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

The 37,000-square-foot store will take over some of the space left behind after Washington-based grocer Haggen abandoned the market in November.

Sprouts is looking for department and assistant department managers in areas including produce, meat, bakery and vitamins, as well as clerks in all departments. It also needs cashiers, courtesy clerks and administrative coordinators.

Company officials said potential employees “should share a passion for healthy eating and the fresh, natural and organic products throughout the store.”

Phoenix-based Sprouts has 21,000 employees in more than 220 stores across 13 states.
