Ollie North Is Not Tempted Here: ‘Nothing In Vegas Stays In Vegas’
Hundreds of people stood in line to sign his new book, sold on the premises at Orleans Arena, not far from the Republican voter registration tables. At the end of the line, there I was, asking him if he had just made a fortune.
“I didn’t, but the publisher did,” he said. “I will certainly get paid. Uncle Rupert [Murdoch] takes care of me at Fox News Corp.”
North had just been in Vegas three months ago for a gig at an advertising convention. I failed to ask a good question, because I’m just an idiot in the liberal media, as he implied later on stage, so I asked the standard: What does North do when he comes to Vegas?
“Mostly I work, like most all the people in Vegas work,” he said amiably.
Has he been tempted to take part in Vegas sins?
“I haven’t been tempted yet. I also know: Nothing in Vegas stays in Vegas.”
Mr. North, that is the truest thing you said Saturday night.
