You have to be feeling pretty good right now if you favor the colors of Spain. Rafael Nadal is about to knock Roger Federer off the top perch of the world tennis rankings and is among the favorites to win gold here, the soccer team won 2008 Euro Cup and Samuel Sanchez on Saturday won gold in the men’s cycling road race from Tiananmen Square to the Great Wall.

“We are living a golden era,” Sanchez said. “The government supports us and the sacrifice is paying off.”

Yeah, and the wine isn’t half bad, either.

Add cycling: No masks were spotted on cyclists making their way through the course, but you couldn’t have cut through the thick humidity with a chainsaw.
