Writer, editor, communications specialist Mike Zigler dies

Mike Zigler was a gifted writer and critical thinker. The journalist, editor of the conservative Liberty Watch magazine, and Director of Communications for the MGM Grand has died. The details of his death remain unclear, according to friends.

  He was 29.

One Zigler friend said the writer was recently injured while playing a pickup basketball game. Zigler fell and complained of arm pain and a headache. He had difficulty with his balance after the injury.

Zigler’s body was found Thursday in his car, which was parked in his garage.

Liberty Watch publisher George Harris was stunned to learn of his friend’s death.

“I spoke with him on Thursday about midday,” Harris said. “He was going to go to the UNLV Alumni Association meeting. He said he’d call me later. We spoke every couple of days. He was a good friend, one of my good buddies. The kid was the most creative, talented kid.”

According to his Facebook page, Zigler was born Dec. 23, 1979.

Friends from the social networking site poured out their hearts and expressed their shock at learning of his death.

Desiree Stinson wrote: “Tonight the heart dims as the heavens shine brighter than before. Mike, thank you for making our world a better
place.”

Bradley N Swalley wrote: “Mike I really don't know what to say. I am sure that you can hear me. Damn, you son of a bitch... I miss you ...
I was always at the end of the phone all you had to do is call..you were there for me so many times.”

Meg Brunner: “I hope your soul has found the peace you were seeking.

Your legacy lives on at the MGM and in every other life you touched along the way. You will be remembered, Mike.”

Christy Markling Boring: To know you was to love you...you've touched everyone you've ever met, what a legacy you leave! We were all
so blessed and lucky to have been able to spend any and all time we had with you. Thank you for being you!
