Private school planned for kids with 'learning differences'

Parents of children with attention deficit disorder, dyslexia and social anxiety might be interested in a new private school called the Lexis Preparatory School to help children with "learning differences."

The school plans to offer small class sizes with teachers trained to help children who learn differently. The K-8 school is scheduled to open in August of 2010.

Organizers have put together a Web site at lexispreplasvegas.com.

They have opened a similar school near Phoenix called Lexis Preparatory School Scottsdale. Its Web site is lexisprepscottsdale.com.

There will be two forums for those who want to learn more about the school planned for Las Vegas. The forums will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Dec. 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Siena Golf Club, 10575 Siena Monte Ave.
