Ron Paul plans Las Vegas campaign stop

Republican presidential aspirant Ron Paul appears ready to battle on in Nevada's Saturday caucus, despite a likely last place finish in Florida today.

The Texas congressman is expected to speak on Friday at the Leatherneck Club between 6 and 9 p.m., according to a press release from the Filipino American Veterans of Nevada.

The Filipino group wants the federal government to recognize the military service of more than 24,000 Filipinos during WWII, including 100-year-old Silverio Cuaresma Sr. and five others in Nevada.

Three recent polls of likely Republican primary voters in Florida found Paul trailing three other GOP contenders.

Although the margins differed, Public Policy Polling, Quinnipiac University and Suffolk University each showed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney leading in Florida with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich second and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum in third. Paul placed fourth.
