If you're in Dallas for the game, there are several activities planned. From 5-6 p.m. CT at the Cotton Bowl is the big pep rally for both teams. The cheerleaders and bands will be there too. Later that night, I'm getting together with other Rebel fans at the Hyatt to ring in the New Year. Hope to see you there!
On Wednesday morning, New Year's Day, we will have to be up bright & early for a send-off party sponsored by UNLV Alumni at the Hyatt, from 8-930 a.m. We can send the team off with a big Rebel support group and wish them luck. Then we'll head to the Cotton Bowl for some quick (and chilly) tailgating before we head into the stadium. The weather is supposed to be low '60's but it looks like it doesn't really warm up until around 2 p.m., so it might be a bit colder during the game. I'll be wearing layers.
As soon as the football game is over and the Rebels have won that big trophy, it will be time to tune to espn3.com on our phones to watch the Runnin' Rebels play Fresno St. in their Mountain West conference opener, starting at noon PT.
If you're back in Vegas watching the games, and want to watch with friends and other Rebel fans, there are a few good options out there. Born and Raised will have both games on, as well as a breakfast buffet in the morning. Miller's Ale House at Town Square will also be showing both games. So either join us in Dallas, or join the crowd and support both football and basketball on Wednesday. Remember, the football game is on ESPNU at 9 a.m. PT and the basketball game is on espn3.com at 12 Noon PT.
