Are our constitutional rights absolute?

In case you missed it, allow The Complete Las Vegan to draw your attention to a marvelous extended sound bite courtesy of C-SPAN in which various U.S. senators debate Sen. Dianne Feinstein's proposed ban on certain weapons.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, frames an excellent question for Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-CA, along the lines that if Congress can mitigate the Second Amendment, can it also do the same for other amendments, such as the First Amendment.

Feinstein gives her passionate response about the size of bullet holes in the bodies of children.

Sens. Patrick Leahy, D-VT, and Dick Durbin, D-IL, then weigh in. Durbin is fine. Leahy is an clown.

But the debate is substantial. Frankly, I'm glad for both Feinstein and Cruz. Together they articulate the gun ban issue well. Personally, I think Cruz has the stronger argument, but Feinstein is not exactly a wallflower on the issue. And, as regular readers know, I do wonder if I want my neighbors to have drones.

I'd pay good money to see them debate it again.
