Get it together, No. 3107

Faithful readers will know that I am a big fan of the quality of residential trash service in the Las Vegas Valley. We get great service, rain or shine, holiday or no. The guys will pick up almost anything. And, if you have something that doesn't look like it might fit the trash pick-up code (whatever it is), a $20 bill of gratitude will always do the trick.

But, at the risk of sounding like one of those grumpy old men in the theater balcony on "Seasame Street", I do have a gripe this morning with Republic.

About 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) Republic trash truck No. 3107 whipped up on the southbound 95 at Valley View. Something wasn't secure and it sprinkled paper trash all over the highway for a few miles. The crew on that truck needed to get it together. Trash was flying everywhere.

OK, as I reread this maybe I am a little too hard. After all, this wasn't a Daschle kind of "mistake". When you pick up trash for a living a few pieces are bound to get a way from you. But it looked horrible for Republic, which otherwise, like I say, provides Las Vegas with excellent trash service.
