Another day, another embarrassment for Nevada at the mouth of the state's senior senator, Harry Reid.
After a terrible training accident that killed seven Marines outside of Hawthorne, NV, Sen. Reid rose to the Senate floor and linked the accident to the budget cuts in sequestration.
People were understandably irritated at the idea. The accident in Hawthorne is under investigation, but it had nothing whatsoever to do with the budget games in Washington, D.C.
Yet Sen. Reid tries to make the connection on the back of this accident to make a petty political point.
Pretty ugly stuff, Sen. Reid. Pretty ugly, indeed.
