I'm trying to follow the logic of the Obama Administration on Syria, but it's pretty damn tough.
First, they tell us that we must go it alone and strike, without congressional approval, "to send a strong message".
Then, at the last minute, Obama The Feckless, took a 45-minute walk on the grounds of the White House and decided to seek congressional approval. Sending that strong message wasn't all that urgent after all.
So now Team Obama has its hands full trying to convince Congress to OK a military strike on Syria. Team Obama says our military strike would be "incredibly small" and we wouldn't really be going to war.
Right. Like if Syria dropped a bomb on Washington, D.C., we wouldn't consider it an act of war because it was an incredibly small strike.
And now, after Russia jumps in and makes Obama look like a bumbling idiot by brokering a deal with Syria that would have Syria giving up all its chemical weapons to a third party, Team Obama in the form of Secretary of State John Kerry says this morning: "Nothing focuses the mind like the prospect of a hanging."
You mean like that "incredibly small" strike you said we were going to make on Syria that would be so teeny weeny itsy bitsy that it really could not be considered war?
These guys are making this stuff up as they go. Who knows what the president will say tonight in his national address. Hope he won't unilaterally surrender.
PS: That part about surrendering is a joke.
PPS: I hope.
