Dr. Sherif Abdou, president and CEO of HealthCare Partners of Nevada, said the company has been awarded Health Utilization Management accreditation from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.
HealthCare Partners of Nevada said in a statement that Health Utilization Management refers to the process that health care organizations and insurance companies establish to review requests for medical treatments.
“URAC accreditation demonstrates that we follow a process that is clinically sound and respectful of patients’ and providers’ rights,” Abdou said. “The doctors and staff at HealthCare Partners work together with patients and insurance companies to streamline the delivery of quality, affordable health care.”
The statement said URAC, an independent, nonprofit organization, is a leader in promoting health care quality through accreditation and certification programs.
