MOVIES: UNLV picks spring flicks

In Las Vegas, signs of spring range from raging allergies to rabid spring breakers thronging the Strip.
Another sign pops up later this month, however, when Spring Flicks 2009 returns to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
UNLV's annual short film festival for students will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, April 24, and Saturday, Apri 25, in Room A-106 of the Classroom Building Complex on campus, with awards presentations following the screenings.
Spring Flicks screenings are free and open to the public; audience members will choose their favorite festival film, while a jury will present awards for best picture, director, actor, actress, screenplay, cinematography and editing.
