North Las Vegas, Nellis Air Force Base plan community cleanup

The city of North Las Vegas and Nellis Air Force Base active duty personnel are planning a community cleanup to clear out dumping areas and debris near Nellis Air Force Base, beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.

The group will focus on the area roughly bound by East El Campo Grande Avenue, Linn Lane and North Sloan Lane, just outside the base’s main gate. This area has been a popular dump site and is littered with broken glass and garbage.

This project is intended to maintain neighborhood stability and avoid neglect and blight. These events are in line with the City Council’s priorities and strategic plan for future stability in that they build community connections and encourage community spirit and pride.

To join the effort, contact North Las Vegas Outreach Coordinator Kathi Thomas-Gibson at 633-5632.
