MESSAGE BOARD GUIDELINES
The Review-Journal message boards is a forum to discuss ideas on news-related topics. This is not a place to be conversational or a place where personal attacks are allowed. Threads that take on a personal nature or posts that we deem to be bigoted, hateful, or racially offensive will be moderated or deleted and the user's posting privileges may be suspended.
Spamming and advertising is prohibited in these message boards. We consider spamming to be any post that is off topic and not news-related. Please note that we do not allow users to post links that advertise websites in the signature of a post. To ensure a post remains within the guidelines and on topic, please reference your thread to an outside news source related to the topic of the thread by providing a link. As noted below, it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts in these message boards.
The topics of each forum are described on the main page of the message boards. All threads and posts must remain on topic of the associated forum and thread. Threads and posts that are not within the topic parameters may be locked or deleted. Please use the new topic button if you wish to discuss new issue or idea.
We may at times provide temporary forums or sub-forums inside a forum if a certain topic becomes popular and is overwhelming other topics being discussed. Please check for the appropriate forum before posting a thread.
Sometimes discussions will stray off the topic or a heated discussion will arise between a small group of users. When a discussion begins to stray off topic, please start a separate thread to discuss the new topic so that the original thread remains on topic. If the discussion is personal in nature please use the personal messenger (PM) feature provided on the board or contact the user(s) via email. It is important that all discussions in the forum remain civil and on topic.
When posting it is important for users to remain respectful. Respect the guidelines for forum usage. Respect the reviewjournal.com, its employees, yourself and fellow users on these boards. Whether a user has one post or 5,000 posts, they deserve the same respect. Please remember that we operate a family oriented website and all material must remain appropriate for users of all ages and all walks of life.
The reputation tool allows eForum members to rate each other's posts. This tool is to be used reponsibly. Using reputations to attack another member or other abuses of the reputation tool will result in the loss of the abuser's ability to rate other member's posts.
Bumping posts or posting redundant ideas to keep a thread at a high rank is prohibited as this forces other members to view threads that are not as popular. Please allow the natural progression of discussion determine the popularity and rank of a thread.
