Welcome to Silver Star Chapter #1, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliation, Nevada Jurisdiction.

Silver Star Chapter #10 was organized in April, 1945. Our charter members are: Sis. Elizabeth Carter, Worthy Matron; Bro. Vance Moore, Worthy Patron; Sis. Grace Moore, Associate Matron; Rev. Stevens, Associate Patron; Members: Sisters Dumbar, Evelyn Gray, Magnolia Farrel, Homer Session, Elizabeth Allen and Almeta Moody. These Charter Members attended the 1945 Grand Session in Arizona which was held in the month of May.

Our Charter Members didn't have a designated meeting place. Therefore, meetings were held any place that was appropriate. Sis. Carrie Massingale held the distinguished honor of being Silver Star #10 first Grand Matron, Grand Worthy Matron Massingale held this title from 1970-1974. Bro. Stanley was her Grand Worthy Patron.

On April 27, 1981, The Grand Master for the State of Nevada, Clester Nelson, met with Silver Star Chapter #10, then a subordinate Chapter of the Arizona Jurisdiction, to inform us that we had to form our own Jurisdiction. From August - October, 1981, several meetings were held in the homes of Past Matrons in the preparation of formulating a Grand Chapter in the state of Nevada. The Eastern Stars living in Las Vegas requested a dispensation from Grand Master Clester Nelson to constitute a Grand Chapter. It was at this time that Silver Star Chapter #10, under the Arizona Jurisdiction, was divided into four subordinate Chapters. Silver Star Chapter #10 became Silver Star Chapter #1
