THE HISTORY OF JACK HAYWOOD LODGE No. 6
Jack Haywood Lodge No. 6 was formed by Denolia Anderson, Edward
Burney, Willie Golden, Jack Haywood, Lessie Henderson, Bruce Howard, the
Rev. Melvin Perry, Morris Perkins and Jehue Robeson.
The Lodge was chartered June 7, 1982, by the Most Worshipfui Grand
Lodge of Nevada at its Second Communication, Grand Master Nelson
presiding.
Its charter members were Worshipful Master Willie Golden, Senior
Warden Jehue Robeson and Junior Warden Bruce Howard
The Lodge was named after Jack Haywood because of his dedication to
community service and for his love of the fraternity. Bro. Haywood visited
all the sick brethen and sisters in the Las Vegas valley, until, his health
failing, he was forced to become home-bound.
The Lodge gave Bro. Haywood a Christmas party at the North Las Vegas
Care Center. Attended by Grand Master Nelson, Bro. Eugene Mitchell and
Bro. Pruitt, the celebration served to recognize Bro. Haywood for his years
of devoted, humble service. Brethren visited Bro. Haywood up to his death
in 1985. His widow passed away this year.
