Peace Week Celebrated at Hoggard . . .
It has been a highly successful Peace Week with nearly 600 bracelets
distributed to students as they learned and recited the Peace Pledge. Ethnic
and various periods of American music was enjoyed at lunchtime
and the program was supported by many teachers and students. Mr. Kearney
played cooperative games and Ms.. Kuzmaul introduced Peace Symbols and held a
wonderful design celebration in her art classes. Mrs. Rochelle also lent
support with introducing the student population to "Teaching Peace" by Red
Grammer. Mrs. King's Kids with Style sold Peace charms for the bracelets
which we presented and the Peer Mediators supported the program with extra
time and effort in listening to other students recite the pledge and sign the
banner which Mrs. King designed and printed for us.
Many thanks to all who lent their support to this week's events, from
making bracelets to taping music, to painting faces, to judging art work.
What a program can be put together when everyone works as a team! Perhaps
with some more advance planning we can make this Peace Week program even
better next year! Thanks
to one and all for a Peaceful celebration!
