The M.A.S.H. Process
The M.A.S.H. Village is a Transitional Living center. It provides a comprehensive continuum of residential programs ranging from short-term transitional housing to long-term transitional housing. A full complement of social services is also offered to address specific obstacles to self-sufficiency such as: Case Management, Comprehensive Assessments, Self-Esteem & Motivational Classes, Adult Basic Education & literacy, Job Skills Workshops & Career Counseling, Addiction Recovery Program, Support Groups, Children's Activities & Parenting Classes, etc.
Upon entering the M.A.S.H. Crisis Intervention Center, clients are interviewed by Intake Workers who assess their needs. Referrals are then made to the appropriate on-site and off-site agencies. Because M.A.S.H. networks existing public, private, and non-profit agencies, it is able to facilitate comprehensive programs which will meet the needs of each individual.
PERSONALIZED ASSISTANCE -- An individual or family entering the M.A.S.H. program will have a unique set of circumstances in need of intervention. For example, single-mother "rachel", who has a high-risk pregnancy, may access pre-natal care, participate in a transitional housing program for women, and enroll her six-year old daughter, "Jenny", in school.
"Frank", a Vietnam Veteran, may find armed services benefits, receive counseling to overcome alcohol addiction, and seek legal assistance in settling a housing dispute.
The M.A.S.H. Program is designed to provide much more than band-aid, crisis- based assistance. With its network of social services, the Center is an important link in Southern Nevada's Continuum of Care for homeless and at risk individuals and families.
