The M.A.S.H. VILLAGE was a dream of Mayor Jan Laverty-Jones to serve the homeless of Las Vegas. The City of Las Vegas and Clark County joined together to build a 40,000 sq. ft. 360-bed facility to address the needs of homeless families and women with additional funds from the City of North Las Vegas.

The Village Transitional Living Center opened on December 22, 1995 as an expansion of the city's M.A.S.H. Crisis Intervention Center, which opened one year earlier on Dec. 6, 1994.

The City of Las Vegas, through a national Request for Proposal (RFP) process selected to contract with St. Vincent de Paul Village, Inc. of San Diego, CA., to manage to project.
