SPRING MOUNTAINS ASSOCIATION GETS WIRED

By Charles Washington

Web Home Page - Thanks to help from the Las Vegas Review Journal, the SMA will have a World Wide Web (WWW) presence in the very near future. Through a program named Community Link, the Review Journal is designing, developing, and hosting the SMA's Home Page on the Internet, at no charge to the SMA. My wife, Barbara, and I are busy converting ECHOs, SMA developed documents, calendars, information booklets, etc., to HTML format and uploading the files to Tonya Carpenter, the Review Journal's Webmeister. Tonya is busy implementing the HTML files as soon as she gets them. The initial Home Page should be complete by the time you are reading this article.

Having an SMA Home Page gives us an opportunity to distribute the ECHO, present our Calendar of Events, "promote" the Festival In The Pines and Smokey's Winter Holiday, recruit volunteers for current and future projects, solicit new members, and much more, to anyone that has Internet access. This certainly increases our audience, and can help strengthen the SMA's impact on those things we think important.

The direct address of the SMA Home Page is http://www.lvrj.com/communitylink/sma

or it can be reached through communitylink.

e-mail Address - The SMA has an e-mail address. It is:

smanv@yahoo.com

Barbara and I check this daily, so feel free to use it instead of "snail" mail.
