Man already in jail is suspect in 2 Las Vegas homicides

A man already in custody in connection with a shooting at an automotive repair shop last month was re-booked Friday and is now also facing charges related to two separate homicides — one in December and another on July 3, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Shawn Eisenman, 30, was arrested at gunpoint July 7 on charges related to the shooting at the repair shop, where a customer who employees identified as Eisenman unloaded a hail of bullets toward people in the shop, one of whom was a 5-year-old boy, according to his arrest report. No one was hurt, but the report added Eisenman had a newborn baby in the back of his car during the shooting.

Eisenman was being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges related to that shooting — including five charges of attempted murder — before he was charged in connection with the separate homicides. But on July 22, Eisenman was re-booked on charges in connection to both the shooting death of a woman on her front porch July 3 and the shooting death of a man whose body was found near Lone Mountain Road and U.S.Highway 95 on Dec. 9.

Ladonna Metais, 46, was having a smoke about 10:35 p.m. on the front porch of her 5720 N. Campbell Road home July 3 when she was fatally shot in the head. She was standing with two other people during the shooting, and those two people said they spotted a dark, two-door car stopped in front of the house before the shooting, but no suspect or motive was identified.

The body of Cameron Ryan, 27, was found Dec. 9 near an access road adjacent to the freeway, just north of Craig Road. Police had said Ryan “had possibly been shot where his body was found.” No suspect or motive was named at the time.

Police announced Eisenman’s re-arrest on Friday, but as of Friday it was unclear what connections detectives had made between Eisenman and each of the separate homicide cases because the arrest reports for both those cases were not yet available.

On top of the charges related to the repair shop shooting, Eisenman is now facing 23 different counts, including murder with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon and prohibited person in possession of a firearm. He is due in court early Saturday.
