Las Vegas police looking for suspect in slot machine burglaries

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in a string of burglaries in northwest Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.

Since May, money has been taken from at least eight slot machines at convenience stores, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Police said the man used a crowbar to pry the front panels off the slot machines before taking the cashbox and leaving the business.

The man was described as being white and approximately 6 feet tall. He has worn a mask in each incident, police said. He was seen driving a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla. The vehicle is missing a front hubcap, police said.

During the most recent incident on Monday in the 6300 block of Durango Drive, the man might have showed a handgun, police said.

Police said anyone with information regarding the suspect can call Metro’s northwest area command patrol investigations section at 702-828-8577, or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
