2 shot in front of Henderson restaurant, 1 in ‘extremely critical’ condition

Two men were hospitalized after they were confronted, then shot outside a Henderson restaurant Monday evening.

The shooting happened about 7:35 p.m. in the east parking lot of Black Mountain Grill at 11021 S. Eastern Ave., near Sunridge Heights Parkway, said Michelle French, Henderson police spokeswoman.

Before the shooting, a group of four people initially walked out of the Wendy’s at 11011 S. Eastern Ave. and into the parking lot east of Black Mountain Grill, French said. The group was then confronted by two separate people.

The group of four and the group of two “exchanged words,” French said, before at least one person in the group of two then opened fire on the group of four.

Two of the four people shot at were hit, and both were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center’s trauma unit, French said. One man was in extremely critical condition while the other suffered minor injuries as of 9 p.m.

It’s unclear how old the men were, French said. It’s also unclear whether both parties knew each other.

No one was in custody as of 9:45 p.m.

French said the 24-hour restaurant was still open Monday night, but the Wendy’s just east of it, at 11011 S. Eastern Ave., was closed as police investigated.
