Boyfriend of 17-year-old girl shot in northwest Las Vegas arrested
The teenage boyfriend of the 17-year-old girl who was shot in the stomach Tuesday outside her family’s apartment in the northwest valley was arrested Thursday in connection with her shooting, police said.
The girl was shot once in the stomach about 9 p.m. Tuesday inside the 2217 James Bilbray Drive apartment complex, just north of the Best In The West shopping center, at 2100 N. Rainbow Blvd., Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said. Wounded, she made her way back to her family’s apartment, where her parents called 911.
She was taken to University Medical Center’s trauma unit in critical condition, but as of early Wednesday she was on the mend.
Police said the girl’s boyfriend was a juvenile, so they could not release his name. He is also a teenager.
Metro spokesman Larry Hadfield said it wasn’t yet clear what led to the shooting.
