Road Construction Projects winner of
Worst Use of Public Money in the Reader's poll.

Very few people voted in this category, so maybe they just aren't paying attention to what public money is being spent on. Or maybe they are still waiting in line at the DMV. In any event, the winner is road construction projects. The visage of orange cones and gravel trucks strikes fear in the heart of any commuter. Besides, road construction doesn't seem to be making life easier any time soon. Here's a chuckle: Second place went to the computers at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Come to think of it, filling out the 200 categories on the Best of Las Vegas ballot is a good way to spend idle time waiting at the DMV.
