The New Frontier winner of
Hotel Most Deserving of being Imploded
in the Reader's poll.

3120 Las Vegas Blvd. South

The New Frontier was on schedule to be blown up and turned into a San Francisco-themed hotel. But that plan was frozen last year because imploding and rebuilding would cost more than $1 billion, and financing was deemed a problem. It was easier just to change the name from the Frontier to the New Frontier, a few years ago. But now, it will sit there aging, on the northern part of the Strip, next to Fashion Show mall, which is basically being glitzed-up and doubled to hold 1.7 million square feet of retail space. The old New Frontier could end up looking more out of place by the day. Second place went to Circus Circus, because of all those hyper kids in there?
