Erin Kenny winner of
Least Effective Public Official
in the Reader's poll.

It was a tight race, close enough to make that whole Bush-Gore thingie look like a landslide. But by a single vote, County Commissioner Kenny bested Las Vegas Councilman Michael McDonald for this year's dishonor, and we -- as fervent pulse-takers of the public zeitgeist -- wish we'd left a bit of room on our ballots for elaboration. But, elaboration aside, it's pretty obvious that Kenny is a polarizing sort of politician whom voters either love or hate. And this year -- and with strong opposition -- the latter won.
