Gilcrease Bird Sanctuary houses a large collection of game, exotic birds and birds of prey that are being rehabilitated by the Wild Wing Project.
Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily
Cost: $4 for adults, $1 for children (children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult)

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
The Flamingo

The 15-acre habitat features birds and fish, including Chilean flamingos, swans, an African crowned crane, pheasants, ducks, koi fish, grass carp and others are on display at the Flamingo.
Hours: Open 24 hours
Cost: Free

Henderson Bird Preserve

A 90-acre migratory bird stop and wetlands that encompass basins, lagoons and ponds. Includes trees, trails, benches and kiosks.
Hours: 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
Cost: Free

Mermaid Restaurant and Lounge

A 117,000 gallon saltwater aquarium houses thousands of tropical fish and daily fish feeding shows at 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. A mermaid swims in the aquarium at various times Thursdays through Sundays.
Hours: Open daily
Cost: Admission is free.

MGM Grand Lion Habitat

MGM Lions A multilevel habitat featuring four waterfalls, overhangs, a pond and Acacia trees. Can house up to five lions. Shop located next door.
Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. Shop is open 9 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.
Cost: Admission is free.

The Secret Garden of Siegfried & Roy and Dolphin Habitat
The Mirage

White Tiger Features some of the world's rarest and most exotic animals, including the Royal White Tigers of Nevada and the White Lions of Timbavati. The Mirage Dolphin Habitat is home to eight Atlantic bottlenose dolphins.
Hours: 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekends and holidays.
Cost: General admission is $15 for adults; $10 for children 4 to 12; and free every day for children 3 and under, when accompanied by an adult.

Shark Reef

Shark Reef The main tank holds more than 1 million gallons of water and features a 20-foot-long acrylic tunnel for surround viewing, similiar to Sea World. The predator-based attraction has more than 2,000 animals from 100 different species, including 13 shark species, moon jellyfish, manta rays, sea turtles and golden crocodiles. Also features shops and a jungle atrium.
Hours: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. daily
Cost: $16.95 for adults; $10.95 for children 5-12; free for children under 5. Nevada residents receive a discount with proper identification.

Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park

Exhibits include a variety of endangered cats as well as the last family of Barbary apes in the United States, chimpanzees, eagles, ostriches, emus, talking parrots, wallabies, flamingos, large exotic reptiles and every species of venomous reptile native to Southern Nevada. The zoo features a display of some of the world's rarest birds, the Bali mynahs, an exhibit by the Las Vegas Gem Club, botanical displays of endangered cycads and rare bamboos, and a new Children's Petting Zoo.
Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Cost: $6.50; $4.50 for people 62 and older and children 2-12; and free for children younger than 2
