Candy, slush bar opening


Purple Zebra, a 4,400-square-foot, self-service candy and slush bar, is scheduled to open Friday adjoining the Flamingo, 3555 Las Vegas Blvd. South. It has a floor-to-ceiling display of more than three dozen containers, from 16 to 100 ounces, which customers can fill with their choices from among more than 30 slush flavors, 10 of them nonalcoholic. Alternatively, they can fill the containers with candy ranging from gummy snakes to retro classics. …

Crush Eat, Drink, Love has opened at the MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, specializing in small plates of traditional favorites and world cuisine. …

Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Town Square, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, now serves brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends, featuring such dishes as a smoked salmon omelet, fried egg sandwich and ham and cheese crepes, plus $20 bottomless mimosas and blood marys, and cocktails including a Granny Smith Apple Mimosa and Bacon Bloody Mary. …

Poppy Den Asian Bistro at Tivoli Village, 440 S. Rampart Blvd., has introduced a number of new menu items, including Peking duck, marinated for three days in ginger, salt, cinnamon, scallions, coriander and star anise and served with scallion pancakes ($23), braised pork belly wrapped in an Asian bao bun ($11), and lup chong lo mein with wok-charred noodles, Chinese sausage, scallions and bean sprouts ($11).

Poppy Den also has introduced The Den, a second-floor social scene with craft cocktails and a special late-night menu. Hours are 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. …

Table 10 at the Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has introduced a $45 four-course tasting menu of seasonal dishes. Entree choices are pasta Bolognese, roasted chicken, filet mignon, sake-braised beef short ribs and seared sea scallops. …

Mr. Lucky’s Cafe and the Pink Taco at the Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road, now offer healthy menus featuring gluten-free, low-calorie, vegetarian and vegan options. They include a Mediterranean kale salad and gluten-free pasta carbonara at Mr. Lucky’s and gluten-free garden fajitas or a Mexican turkey chopped salad at the Pink Taco.
